Virtualized Desktop Infrastructure
VDI is the next step on from Thin Desktops and Applications. Where users need more than “thin” applications, it is possible to provide a complete dedicated virtual PC to an end user. Control, reliability and power are the key benefits here. The user is provided with a connection to a virtual PC on a host server which is far more powerful than the client machine. Hyper-V technology is the platform for this provision and it allows you to spec the PC to ensure it is capable of what the user requires. The PC is accessible internally and externally. Again the use of APP-V can instantly deploy a full range of applications to a newly created virtual PC, delivering only those applications the particular user requires.
